Crete-Monee squandered a double-digit second-half lead, but survived in overtime (the third McDipper OT on Thursday) to earn a return berth to the championship contest. The Warriors (10-2) handed Seton its first loss of the campaign in a contest that featured several critical missed free throws late in the fourth quarter and overtime. The win sends the Warriors into their eighth Big Dipper championship contest, including the third in a row.

Mark Conner tallied 19 points and Marvie Keith 15 points for Crete-Monee, which limited Seton to a single free throw in overtime. LaQuon Treadwell chipped in eight pionts and nine rebounds for the Warriors. Seton got a game-high 23 points and 12 rebounds from J.R. Tolliver, while Mark Weems collected 14 points and Russell Robinson added 12. Seton trailed by 11 points and halftime and 52-45 entering the final quarter before making its charge.

Crete-Monee owns a 1-6 mark in McDipper title games, with the lone title coming in 1980 with a decision over Rich Central. The Warriors fell to Thornton in the 2010 championship game and to Hales Franciscan in the 2009 title contest.
