Putting its unbeaten season mark on the line, Bloom Township jumped out to an early command and rolled to its first championship contest since 2007 with a lopsided decision over Southland Athletic Conference rival Rich South.

Lejavius Johnson paced three Blazing Trojans (12-0) in double figures with 22 points, while Donald Moore (five assists) and Henry Hicks each added 10 points. Bloom coasted after building a 37-21 halftime advantage. Rich South was topped by John Ruffin with 13 points, while Jaylen Zachery finished with eight points.

The Blazing Trojans will look for their second title after capturing a 58-53 decision over Crete-Monee in the 1995 championship game. Overall, Bloom Township is 1-5 in McDipper title games, while Bloom Trail owned an 0-4 mark in championship tilts.
